I have have seen many blogs where authors remark how much they enjoy editing their novels.
I have done many edits. I forget how many, but it must be well into double-figures.
The writing is much easier for me. It is more enjoyable than the intensity of editing my novel to the highest of my capabilties.
I find editing a lot more tiring than the actual writing.
Maybe your concentration level needs to be that much higher. Apart from obvious mistakes and omissions you have to keep narrative flow in your mind to both maximise its impact and minimise the need for further edits.
I agree with Mark. Editing is like picking up dog poo - unless you're thorough your lawn ends up full of dead grass.
No.
Having said that - I DO enjoy reading back over it once I've edited it, and seeing how much better it is.
Enjoy the process - not at all. But it's worth it for that end product.
