I am about to start writing a Synopsis. I have ideas, but I would welcome tips.

I've discovered that some of the agents websites/blogs have helpful guidelines. Some prefer it to be condensed down to a single page where possible. There are also articles on this site under advice I seem to remember. Personally I find writing a synopsis very difficult so good luck with yours.
Writing a synopsis depends on whether you are intending to send it to an agent, putting it on the back of your book, or using it for promoting your book.
Agents usually like a brief summary of the story, usually up to 4 pages. Once they have read this, they should know the facts and have a good idea what your book is about.
Promoting your book or the write up on your book's cover is naturally shorter. It may only cover 2 to 4 of the most dramatic points in your story. It may not state them as actual facts. It may hint at them, or ask questions to provoke the reader's interest.
The most important reason for a synopsis is - to grab the reader's attention and convince them they need to read your book.
If you do intend to send your book to an agent, it's wise to check out their requirements beforehand, which are usually provided on their web-site.
Also, check out other writer's books, especially the most famous writers and see how they write their covers.
Ahhh I've just written mine tonight actually for my 2nd book. I kind of just go through each chapter and write what happens and then condense and condense until it all fits on one page! Hah! :)
It feels odd to be letting slip all the plot points in such a brash way - especially since you spend months making them beautiful in the MS - but ahhh! The joys of synopsis writing!
