I've killed a couple of minor characters off already (they are war stories) but the first secondary character dies in book 4. I had second thoughts after I'd planned the story out, but his death is so essential to a major plot line he's got to go. Shame, as I was quite fond of him.
And don't shout it too loud but I think one of my two MCs will die in the final story. Not sure which one yet - I guess it depends who's better at keeping himself out of harm's way at Waterloo.
