Hi all.....

I started writing my life story, I'd really like to finish this..however as my writing as evolved i.e writing short stories etc, I have read back on the 80 pages i have written on my life story and it doesn't flow well, i know all this writing needs editing now, which i am confident to do.... my question is.....

do i edit these pages now then continue ...or do i finish the book and then edit the whole thing?

my writing style has changed and evolved since i started it and i don't want it to end up a jumbled mess!'thanks,

kat.

Why not try a combination? I'm in the habit of writing, leaving it alone, then reading it back and editing the glaring points before writing new material. Then at the end I will do three passes: one for coherency, one for spelling and grammar and one to make sure that everything still makes sense. I don't know if this will work for you, but it might be worth a try and see how you get on.

I've just completed a novel and found having "chunks" of writing edited as I completed them was better than waiting until the end. I started off with 10000 words and then another, and then 2 larger sections. I continued writing while the editor was at work.
