Hello all,
I am at the very early stages of developing my work. I would like to develop a work of erotica based on personal experience of true events. Think real life '50 Shades'...
The story involves a chance encounter and introduction online, which then develops over years of erotic exchange via the virtual world eventually leading up to an irresistible face to face encounter, with let's shall we say, explosive results ! Ha!
Ok, so what I would like to know - where do I stand in terms of classifying and pitching my work since it is based on true events - i.e. non-fiction ?
If the work and online conversations are edited to my own style of writing, written under a pseudonym and enough details amended to not identify the other party in any way, is this acceptable ?
Any ideas on the strength of language that can be used to make the novel accessible to publishers as some content is a little racy shall we say !
I'm a real rookie at who would appreciate some guidance.
Many thanks.
Damien and Helan,
Many thanks for your responses. I shall further consult both books for research.
I hope it will be a lot of fun to read and raise a few eyebrows !
Any more tips are always welcome.
Have you read the 'Belle Du Jour' book? It's very racy but also quite intelligently written, quite different to Fifty Shades. Might be an alternative source of inspiration? Good luck, sounds like a fun read!
I would follow the lines of 50 shades in your own words. wish you luck you minx lol.
