Extra rules to the writing game [below] (DRAT this lack of an edit option!)

In order not to post this as a reply (which would get swallowed up in the mists of the origins) to my last question, a few qualifying rules to the game:

a) You are NOT allowed more than 3 sentences. If the entry before you is longer, begin your own after its FIRST 3 SENTENCES.

b) No posting after yourself (except for editing purposes, DRAT this lack of an edit option!)

c) If this grows wings and flies, GIVE OTHERS A CHANCE: don't post too often. Let a few new comments appear before adding a new one of your own. We don't want this TOO one-sided.

d) I imagine this would be more popular (marketable?) if it turns out to be funny. But FATE WILL TELL. It could be even funnier if a few TOTALLY serious pieces were inserted now and then. I have great hopes of combining Paul Garside's and Kate Baxter's humour with Jonathan Hopkins' realistic historical drama (to give just 3 examples of respected fellow-users on this forum). Gardening tips interspersed with wacky larfs...

e) Having said that, DO try to follow the thread. A FEW total jumps into other galaxies might be funny, but the thing should have SOME cohesion.

f) We have to ask Admin if this MAY be published by La Gr@not@. Or does it remain copyright of W&As?

Any other suggestions for rules or guidelines would be welcome HERE.

j) You are NOT allowed to be offensive to any other contributor on this project. The only exception to this rule is Jane Austen – in BOTH directions. Anyone seeing a contribution that is offensive to other users of this web-site should ignore it and carry on from the previous reply. But say so [between square brackets] so that we can ask Admin to block the offender from the thread.

We at La Gr@not@ are offering a free copy of the book to any user who contributes at least 20 well-spaced (not replying until AT LEAST two other users have done so in the meantime), and a 20% discount to ANYBODY who takes part. Only valid IF we ever publish the thing… which depends on YOU… and Admin (who seem to be on holiday, as they haven’t answered that question yet).

STOP PRESS!!! I have just uploaded the whole shebang (up to the present) onto a "shared work", to make it easier for everybody to read right from the beginning. I have done some editing (and will do more + additions), so if anybody is dissatisfied with what I've done (with your own contribution) or if you want further editing, please leave a comment there.

The page is https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/profile/emilie-van-damm/work/57ccc0f4387140b07f8b4569

Or you can click on my name and then on the "shared works" button in my profile.

i) The other thread could SO easily get derailed by people filling it up with comments and replies such as:

"Ooooooh, I really liked that bit!"

"Thanks! Have you read my short story on _ _ _ _ _ _ _ .com? It's all about my pet rabbit, and........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................."

You MAY praise (or criticise) a former post, but KEEP IT SHORT (and you're only to do so if you add a bit of your own in the same reply box...)

I've just broken that rule... but I did it before adding the rule, so "from now on".

(If anybody wants to start a NEW thread, "Comments on the joint-venture novel", that's up to you.)

Don't forget that you can suggest new rules on THIS thread.
