Friends and Family feedback

I hand out my stories to friends and family and sometimes they all come back with different comments and suggestions. How do you edit with so many different comments all different?

Susan, as long as they're not 'leading-questions'. When I ask my nieces to read my manuscript, I said don't tell me whether you like my novel or not. Tell me what stands out and what appeals, because if I asked them whether they liked this part or that part, or this character or that character, they would have said yes..

Give your 'reviewers' a list of questions to consider while reading your work, then hopefully you will have more constructive feedback.

In my case ... because my genre is non-fiction and self help, I only asked friends and family to proof-read my book and point out any errors.
