A daunting part of any writers carear, Stephen King kept all of his on a wall, others will have their own special ways of dealing with the monster.
I wanted to start a fun post with some ways of 'coping'
"Turn them into paper aeroplanes and see if you can land them in the toilet" is the type of think i am looking for... "remember that you are just not what they are looking for and keep on trying" is not, you can get that sort of thing elsewhere.
witty anecdotes, dry humor and a little bit of narcissism and irony are all welcome here. Who knows, rejection letters may start to be fun.

82 rejections! My goodness, Julia, that shows real tenacity on the part of Malorie! That would have been one heck of a blocked U bend!
I think there's a lesson in perseverance for all of us there!
Good idea, Helen! You can't lose that way!
I met Malorie Blackman at the London Book Fair and even she got 82 rejections, can you believe?! She said that if self-publishing had been possible at that time, she would, no doubt, have taken that route... I wonder how long she spent approaching agents?? And how many submissions she made at the same time??
Yes, love the list Adrian! Maybe I'll just print it out and use it as a yardstick. Then as I catch up to each number of rejections I'll give myself a treat as per Kate's suggestion. So I'll either get a lot of treats or an agent :-)
