What genre do people find they prefer to write and does this link to what you read?

I love reading about action and adventure as well as paranormal and this links with what I write since most of my stories are paranormal or action and adventure.
Yes, it tends to happen in many cases- because writers usually tends to write their ideal stories, or mostly stories they themselves would like to read. Like now, take me for example I love reading all kinds of fiction and fantasy but I don't like reading religious books at all (no offense to anybody), so, I wouldn't be very keen on writing religious books, and I think its mostly the same with other people.
P.S- I do enjoy reading, cleverly written works, in other genre's too.
