How do You choose which Genre to use?

Replies

I enjoy reading historical military action-adventure, so that's what I write. At the moment, anyhow.

I confess I've been toying with the idea of adding crime, since I read a little of that in past. But it'll still be historical - so many good writers already in that genre it'd need to be 'niche rather than mainstream to get much of an audience :)

I guess I'm saying that for me genre is key.

I choose a genre depending on my mood when writing. I don't know if anyone else is like this though. You can always tell what mood I am throughout my writing :)
