Historical Fiction Competition

Any thoughts as to whether or not Alternate History entries would be accepted?

I have read various sources that suggest that it is a sub genre of Historical Fiction but I cannot find anything definitive.

The competition would give me a great opportunity to formulate something concrete for a novel idea that currently resides only in my head. However, it is not, technically, historical fiction as it contains some fantastical elements.

Cheers in advance to any/all of the responses.

Hi Kevin,

We did go back and add this sentence after seeing your question as we felt it needed clarifying, so thanks for your input. And best of luck for the competition!

Thank you for the responses.

I did see that the guidelines allow for the inclusion of fantastical elements - after I had posted my questions (naturally).

Good luck to both of you (if you are entering), as well!
