How did you start your novel?

Did you steam in Medias Res on the first page, or start somewhere in the middle? Perhaps you started at the end and worked backwards.

I plan it out first or I just get stuck in. Many people say that I am lucky because I am 14 and have such ideas. They think children have more imagination. (Like my parents)

I know I made a comment earlier but I have been reading all the other posts and I realise how exciting getting the words out from the depths of our minds and down onto paper is. I also realise that where you start doesn't matter it's the idea and the growth of that idea that matters most, so middle, end, beginning, and as I have found out, might not be the beginning. This writing is so exciting, I know I have said that already but it is because you never know what is going to happen till it happens. how good is that and all out of OUR heads. keep going and enjoy every rewrite every edit and even enjoy those bits that you thought were so good but after one of those rewrites has no place it shows how your story has evolved. Aren't we lucky! Regards Paul

I started at the beginning but it has turned out to be the part I have rewritten the most! Perhaps that's because when I'm ready to submit (not long now!) I am conscious that this will be the part I am most likely to need to send.
