How do I become a good writer???

Hey all,... I love reading... N wish to become a good writer someday... How do I go about??? I don't think participating in contest is the only solution... :(

I agree with Paul, and everyone else. Read loads and write more! There isn't really any one way to go about becoming better, you just write whatever comes to mind, and/or challenge yourself - set yourself little tasks. Also, receiving feedback is vital as others may see things you could improve on that you might not have thought of. I also think the best thing is not to force your writing too much, as long as you are having fun when you write you can't go wrong!

Hi Vandana, I have read your profile so you know how to write, and I agree competitions don't make you better, maybe they help with working to some structure, time and a limited amount of words. I think, notice the "I think" the only way is to continue to write and develop your OWN STYLE. So many people hang on to what is written by famous writers, what is or was right for them and the time they wrote in was for them and that time, if a story reads well and holds you then it must be good even if it doesn't keep to all the rules, which by the way I have no idea what they are. Just keep writing and be different stand out do it your way!
