How long?

Hi, tearing my hair out here. I have been fortunate enough to have an agent interested in my MS. They read the full MS and asked for some amendments which I have done and sent off a month ago now. How long do you think I should leave it before nudging them? Or should I? They said they would get back to me once they'd read it. Response to first version of MS took about 4 weeks. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply Lorraine. Of course you are right. The wait is just agony!

Patience, Rachel! The agent has got a lot of books on his desk just now, and although he'll be looking out for yours, there are still only a certain number of hours in the working day. Allow for recent weather events, too, disrupting travel, and for the upcoming holidays, and you have to bite your knuckles and just wait!

Four weeks was long enough for him to say it was worth a second look when tidied up; but that second look may well involve talking to other people about it, and that's adding to the delay.

Congratulations on getting an agent interested; but you're going to have to try to forget about it and go and do something else in the meantime!
