How Many Story-lines?

Hi all. I would just like to know if anyone out there starts one story-line and sticks with that one until the end? At the moment I have five story-lines, all partly done, and from out of the blue another idea popped into my head the other day. If there is someone who does stick with one idea until it's finished please tell me how you do it. I can't start a sixth! Thanks.

Thanks for the idea Moira I hadn't thought of that. It does make more sense to make them into short stories instead of working on them as novels. Thanks again.

Maybe you should use all the story lines in different short stories instead of writing a novel. I've discovered that I can invent great beginnings to novels but can't sustain it, so I just concentrate on writing short stories now.

It works for me and I'm much more settled in my mind.

Hi Adrian and Jonathan thanks for your comments. I know I need to gather some discipline and stick to one story line, but idea's keep jumping into my head. I think I need to concentrate more on the work in hand and stop letting my imagination wander of in all directions. It will be hard but I have to try. Thanks again.
