How Many Views

I have posted a couple of poems on the 'Shared Work' section of this site, however no comments have been left. Could there be a counter added to show authors how many times their work has been viewed? I believe this in itself would be encouraging.

Good point - well made. Thanks Vincent.

Viewed and read. It's a difficult one. There can be a lot of visitors without anybody actually reading what you have posted.

Would the stats actually benefit you?

Perhaps people do not leave comments because they are unsure of what to write, maybe too little time to want to write. Whatever the reason, I believe that a stat counter in itself will only tell you how many people have clicked the link to your shared work. It will only indicate how well you have chosen the 'title' and 'lead' text to grab a users attention.

Perhaps utilising a score system. 1 - 5 radio buttons that allow a user to quickly rate a shared piece of work. It will not be as good as a comment 'feedback' but at least it will indicate if a user has read the shared work or not.
