I bought a Kindle!

So I finally bought a kindle. I wanted one for a while so I could be portable with my reading. However, now I have got it, my mind goes blank when I search for books to buy. Usually, when im looking to buy a book, I dont have anything in mind, I just go to a bookshop and spend hours reading blurbs till I find a book that interests me. But with a kindle, now it is different.

So. I thought I would ask. What are you reading on the Kindle atm. and what would you recommend for me?

Hi Salma, I agree with John B, I started out by getting some of the free books, not just because they were free no. But you will find as John has said many of the free books are some of the classics and the best written literature you will ever read. As for genre there is a vast range of genre in the free book section.

I am not a reader of horror, but recently I downloaded free for my Kindle the entire works of Edgar Allan Poe. Who I am told Is one of the founders of the classic horror story, with the likes of Alfred Hitchcock praising poe for introducing him into the horror story.

So take a look in the free section you won't be disappointed.

Thank You.

I found a wonderfully well-read copy of Frankenstein in The British Library in Tenerife and loved it. My copy of Sense and Sensibility belonged to my grandmother. The thought of reading e-versions of these classics is quite abhorrent. By all means get the latest bestsellers on your Kindle, but someone should have already wept over your copy of Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice. Having said that, I would probably download P & P just so I could always read the first scene with Mr & Mrs Bennet at will ;)
