The Ideal Hero

Right from ancient and heroes of old like Hercules, to Harry Potter and Katniss Everdeen, What's YOUR ideal hero? And how would he/she be?

I'd say my ideal hero is an anti-hero, I find them terribly interesting- take Walter White from Breaking Bad.

My idea of a hero is someone who does something good for others and not just themselves

How interesting! I have seen relatively little of Wallace and Gromit, I guess I should see a little more of it from now on.

I have to say, I completely agree with you on the Superman matter, he is "too perfect" Batman, on the other hand is lot better, as I see it. My ideal hero would probably be someone who's not truly "good" nor "bad" someone who struggles against themselves, so Anti-heroes are my favorites, I find them to be flawed, interesting, complex and different, as I mentioned earlier, Walter White is an excellent example, and so are Batman and Sherlock Holmes to an extent, as well. Not to mention all of them are INTJ's.

Hi RN. First off, my ideal hero would be Gromit. He's the clever dog in Wallace and Gromit, who never says a word but just gets on and saves the day, so that Wallace can get the praise.

Practically though, I never really liked a lot of the heroes in TV film and writing, as they are often too good to be true. For example; Superman. He just can't be beaten so why bother trying. Even when Kryptonite affects him he always escapes. He doesn't have to make any special effort. I really liked the Will Smith Hancock, in which he plays a super-hero who is not a very likeable person. Rather dysfunctional.

If I had to make a hero up right now, on the spot, it would be someone with a lot of flaws and who has great weaknesses which mean they have to struggle against themselves as well as the bad guys.

Perhaps a female figure struggling against mysogyny and prejudices, such that she sometimes wonders who the bad guys really are.

Cheers
