What long-standing authors do you consider worthy of having an award named after them?

I would pick Eva Ibbotson for her contribution to adult and children's literature.

Replies

John Mortimer for the best story in a legal setting.

Joseph Heller for the best story in a war setting.

J K. Rowling for the best children's story.

P.G. Wodehouse for the best romantic comedy.
