I'm really unsure!

I'm really unsure about my book. For the past 2 years I've had it finished and whenever anyone asks me, I just say I'm editting it. But, my mom heard it was finished from my school friend, now she is pushing publication. I'm only 17, aren't I a little young? I'm really scared....I don't know what to do. I want to publish it, but my age gets me worried. What shall I do?

Dear Capa,

It's really surprising that a 17-year old can finish a novel. This is a positive aspect for selling your book and not otherwise. Age has got nothing to do so long as your story is marketable. Shed your inhibitions and plunge into the world of books. Congratulations and best wishes!

Agree with Adrian - age isn't a factor, just the writing itself. If you're happy with the story, then go for it. If you're hesitant because you think the writing could be improved, then write and edit more. Good luck!

NJ, Don't fret. Your age does not matter. If your book is good enough it will attract interest. But as you are seventeen I would get the manuscript looked at by professional literary service. Then you will know if your manuscript is good enough, and avoid the prospect of rejection, or ridicule.

You are wise not to rush to be published. Most would-be authors are much to eager too.

Good luck.

I hope that helps.
