Initials or no initials?

Just wondering if people like signing their work as their full name or their signature name. I think I prefer C.M.E Harvey instead of Chantelle Harvey, but can initials be a bit of a mouthful?

Some of the biggest authors in the world sign their work with initials - J. K. Rowling, J R R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, George R R Martin.

I thought JKR used her initials so as not to push the fact she was female, like PD James et al.

Fact is there's an industry bias against women authors. I've no real idea why, but checking my bookshelves I have very few volumes by ladies - Anna Sewell, Monica Dickens, Ann Hyland - are probably it if you don't count my secret stash of Pullein-Thompson paperbacks ;)

Maybe the type of book I read isn't popular with women writers anyway. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)

I for one am considering a pseudonym(my name's way too long), one with no initials. But in the end I think it all comes down to the publisher, even Rowling had to add an extra K to her name(initial name- Joanne Rowling), because her publisher said it sounded better and people would prefer that kind of name better and etc.
