J K Rowling's new novel The Casual Vacancy is reviewed today. How important are critics opinions?

J K Rowling is interviewed on Front Row today at 19.15- 19.45 on BBC Radio four.

Are you influenced by critics opinions?

Do the opinions of reviewers determine whether you buy a novel?

Replies

I have read many critics opinions of The Casual Vacancy on the internet. I have also read the buyers reviews on amazon.

Opinions are mixed about. J K Rowling's first adult novel. Her writing has widened, but it is for the individual to decide whether it has deepened.

I gave you the 'Thumbs Up' for your cheek Jon.

I only read traditional and contempory award winning authors. Many are Carnegie Medal winners.

People can read what they choose, but 'Learn from the Best' is my motto.
