Yes, I have been known to be dumber than dumb, but can anyone out in the deep dark wilderness here, tell me where can I find out more about the up and coming competitions on this site?

I've trawled and trawled but can only find the results of past competitions; any ideas? ):):):)

The competitions are listed under the 'Community' section but you're right that you don't see any except past competitions. The shortlist has just been announced for the Short Story 2012 Competition and as yet there are no more listed, but if you go through recent questions, there was mention of a Crime Writing Short Story Competition. I've copied the response from Admin for you below.

'We are currently running a crime writing competition, in association with Bloomsbury Publishing. A winner will be chosen every month for the next 9 months and then a final, overall winner will be chosen during National Short Story Week in November.

Prizes will include: £100 worth of Bloomsbury books, ePublication of your short story, tickets to Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival and a place at the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook Conference 2013.'

I hope that helps.

At present there have been no new competitions announced on Writers and Artists.

There are some other competitions running at the moment for National Flash Fiction day see www.nationalflashfictionday.co.uk for details. Some are region dependent.

Hope this helps.
