La Gr@not@ has come up with another idea for an anthology. Stories by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents... illustrated by children. OR VICE VERSA.
Anybody interested? Send submissions to reunion (at) la-granota.com
We're considering: "All profits to orphanages", but that might make the orphans feel jealous, so other causes are being considered. Suggestions?
And PLEASE don't forget our flash-fiction action pro-refugees: http://la-granota.com/stranger.htm Deadline for the latter 25th Jan! We only have 2 (wonderful) stories so far. New year's resolution: Do something positive with my creative talent. (Something to help others.)
@ Melinda: No, not necessarily. The idea is the kind of story a mother makes up to tell her child... OR vice versa! Also grannies, uncles, whatever intergenerational collaboration you want.
Since "granota" means "frog", we're considering having "Tadpoles" or "Tadpole Tales" as the title of the anthology.
Actually, Vic, I was thinking of you and Georgia (also a certain CW+J, ML+L+I) when I came up with this idea.
The midwife program sounds great. (I was considering midwifery at one point, have been present at 4 home births - none of them related to me aside from by friendship and trust.)
This is not flash fiction, so no fixed word count, but keep in mind that it's an anthology for children, so they should be short stories, not novellas.
Calculate one illustration for each A5 page of text. So far no deadline, so give precedence to the refugee project. BUT, IF contributions come in thick and fast, might try to get it ready for mid April, to make the Barcelona book fair...
Happy New Year Jimmy,
Great idea! Does this mean it's a story about mum and a child?
Thanks.
Melinda
