My first chapter.

I'm about to share my first chapter to my latest novel with you my fellow writers. But I would like to seek some advice first.Do I just up load it and wait for the helpful feedback; or do I give a background note about the story just to give the reader a fuller view of the overall story? So I'm not sure which way to go with this so please lend me your thoughts and advice. Thank You.

I believe you would benefit more if you just upload it.

People will have more to think about without any background to your story. Then you will know if they understand what you have written.

Perhaps upload about the book in your about you section, and then put the first chapter up here?

Think about how you browse a book in a bookshop. If you read the cover blurb first, then give us the equivalent here. However, if you normally just dive straight in to the first chapter to get a "feel" for the book (that's what I normally do), then just upload your chapter here without any extra supporting info.
