MY SUBMISSION

Hello...my name is Sharon. I am wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Austin Macauley because I went through the process of sending cover letter, synopsis and samples of my work, they liked it, sent me a letter asking for full manuscript, they liked that and then I received a contract through the post, but were asking for an amount of money. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not this company is legitimate please.

Bad idea, I think - authors shouldn't be paying publishers. Only the other way around. I know it's tempting to see your book out there, but if you're paying even part of the cost, that's a big red flag. Run away.

I wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole.

Thank you both so much for your feed back. It's really hard to get a publisher as most of us know as we are in the same boat. I mean, the publishers did say that their accounts department would come to an arrangement with me so that I wouldn't have to pay back the money all in one go so they seem very accomodating. We are at the bottom rung of the ladder and all we need is a little shove in the right direction.
