Hands up those who understand how NaNoWriMo works. It starts in November and I wonder if an autobiographical "novel" would be acceptable, i.e. just write a version of your life story and take it from there. What do you think?

Thank you C.J. and Lorraine. Good advice. Time to start thinking and, most of all, doing something.
People use it for all kinds of projects. I know people who completed it writing nothing but short stories. The goal is to write 50,000 words - if you write an autobiographical novel, you'll still 'win' as long as you hit the word count.
Hi Anthony,
The rules are pretty generous.

See the FAQs on that site.
As long as it's a novel, of any genre or style, it's acceptable. So if you novelise your life story, then it's a novel, therefore it's okay.
Go for it!
