Hi All,
Just wondered how many of you signed up for this year's NaNoWriMo and how many of you finished it? I did and I have to say I have found it so motivational and would recommend any writer to give it ago!
Hi All,

Yes, I didn't manage to reach 50,000 words but I did keep going for the whole month and I'm really glad I did. I started off with only the vaguest idea of an opening scene, but I finished with enough material that I feel confident I'll be able to edit and recycle into a complete first draft with a beginning, middle, end, sub plots and characters that I've got to know very well.
But I won't be looking at it for several months yet, I need to catch up with all the things I put on hold during November!
I'm not going to lie... it's bloody hard. Especially, when you have a full time job and a house to run. You have to find the time. I think to myself each year how the hell am I going to do this?? It requires commitment and I enjoy doing it as I just use it as a template to do more on my current projects. In all honesty, what you write is mostly a load of crap, that doesn't make sense. I have to stop myself from editing because I find myself going around in circles and getting nowhere close. I'm now currently going through it and rewriting, snipping, chopping, adding etc to make it better. It's a competition about dedication not quality... quality comes after...
I didn't do it this year. It was supposed to be my first and I was looking forward to it, but suddenly, I got his by matter after matter that claimed my attention and suddenly, I was in the middle of November and hadn't even signed up.
I do wish to know... How was it?
