I have sent off lots and lots of article proposals to newspapers and magazines from this years yearbook as well as pitches to publishers for my book. I am receiving NOTHING back. No acknowledgments. No rejections even. Is this common? Very demoralising/uninspiring.
This is very common. Don't feel distressed!! :)
Unfortunately, at least for me, this seems to be something that many magazines do. On their websites, some specifically say that they will not respond unless your work has been accepted. Some do not respond at all.
I agree that this is demoralising, but that does not make me give up!
