Hey guys, how would I go about writing a novel? I've wanted to for a while but don't know where to start :(

Hello Victoria, I agree with Adrian, Aspects of the Novel by E.M. Forster would be a good place to start, I have a copy myself, and like you just starting out. I have also just bought Writers and Artists Guide To How to Write, The Essential Guide For Authors.

Best of luck in your quest.

James.

Start with a concept that you're passionate about. The rest can be researched and learnt by practice, but if you're not passionate about what you're writing - you'll never see it through to the end.

Victoria, also get a copy of Elements of Style, fourth edition, by Willim Strunk Jr and E B White (Charlottes Web, Fame) It's a must for would-be authors like ourselves. I'm always referring to my copy.
