Opinions of Kindle Direct Publishing?

Hello fellow scribblers,

I've got a collection of poetry on Kindle at the moment (as a water-tester for the possible future), and it seems to be doing alright (not amazing, but well enough), and I was wondering what other W&A members thought to KDP publishing?

It is still my ambition to have a book published that I can hold in my hands and turn the pages of, so I have to say my impression of KDP is 'fun' at the moment!

I think it is a brilliant idea for writers to be able to publish their books in a way that gets it out there and it is very motivational I agree. However (and please trust me this is against none of you I offer my full congratulations about your work it is wonderful) I'm not a fan of the Kindle itself as I like books better.

Still I think that KDP is a fantastic idea for writers and I'm glad that peoples work is benefitng from it so well!

If you won't care about being an unsigned writer it's an amazing idea.

I think it can be a great idea - and so much easier for an author setting out to reach a market that way.

I'm not sure of the logistics of it as I've been trying to write a sample book to upload to give it a try. I've not got very far with it! I'll let you all know when I finally get it up there.
