What exactly would be the best way to plan your novel, considering the sheer size of the story (Which is about 60,000 words) without following the traditional Beginning, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action and Conclusion planning style?

The main thing I do it plan the end, then ask myself.
'How does this come to be?'
You can also plan major plot points before anything else. Is there a death? A Wedding? A Birth? War?
You could also just start writing and see what comes out. A lot of my book I've pulled out of my ass which I plan on editing on a later date.
