Posting Work

Doesn't anyone else think that posting work on the internet is a bit dodgy? Personally I don't think that it is a good idea because of some of the horror stories that I have heard about people losing their work in a similar manner and never being able to get it back. What do other users think?

Er...why would you try to sell something posted here, or on any other review site for that matter? Only if it's complete, yet writers with failed ABNA novels have been published - you can't get more in the public eye than that because many entries are read...by the 'public'.

Posts are unlikely to be final edits. And edits are changed, ergo new.

If trad publishers are picking up and re-publishing successful self-pubs, worrying an editor might possibly notice a previous version of part of a story posted several years earlier as a work example is a bit OTT. Readers' comments are worth so miniscule a risk, I reckon.
