Hi
I recently self published my debut book and have had a few people ask me if there will be an audiobook version.
As a registered blind writer this is something I'd very much like to happen, but wouldn't begin to know where to start.
I've used Createspace to produce the book and am very happy with the result, and have noticed that Createspace offer a CD production service too. Aside from that I don't know anything about audiobook production.
I wondered if anyone else has produced an audiobook or if anyone can give me any pointers or advice.
Thanks
Simon
Oh and one more thing. The headset needs a USB connection port and not the traditional jack sockets.
Hiya ... I'm currently creating an audio book. I'm using a program called Audacity to record it. It's a bit of a learning curve but it is free to download. There are a lot of videos that explain how to use it on Youtube. I would recommend getting a decent set of headphones with a noise reducing microphone. I recently bought a HP one for 24 euros and it works very well indeed.
Just one important point. When you use Audacity make sure that your particular headset is selected for hearing and recording ... This doesn't seem to be automatic.
This is the headset I use

This is a link to download Audacity

Be careful on the Audacity link ... the website has many other download adverts so choose the right one.
I hope this helps
