How many of you would consider self publishing over publishing? And what do you think would be the main problem you may have to tackle?
I went down the self publishing route..... Hardest thing I've ever had to do, it was a utter nightmare. Mainly due to the publishers I used. I agree with Renee marketing is key. when you use a traditional publisher all those worries are dealt with for you.
We all think we have a good story but as I have proved on this website we believe we can write it better if it's not our story. I think that's just the nature of our minds.
Totally agree with Reene! Self publishing is a better option to start with and then gradually move towards publishing!
I self published. I figured if the book is good enough sooner of later a publisher would snap it up. The main problems to tackle are marketing and honesty. Honesty because perhaps our idea of editing isn't as good as we think it is and perhaps the story isn't as good as we think it is. I've look through some ebooks that look like they should be a first draft :)
Marketing is a tough one ... lot of research to do there :)
