Should the story show the author's name or it should it be anonymous with author's details in the accompanying email? Thanks. DvA

I've gone in for this. I sent an email with my story in an attached Word document, which is completely anonymous. I put all my contact details in the body of the e-mail.

I did receive an acknowledgement, so I assume it was safely received!

Good luck!

' Entries must be submitted via email to competition@bloomsbury.com with the subject heading: "Firewords short story competition".

Please include your email address and other contact details in the body of the email. Your entry can appear in the body of the email or as a Word/PDF attachment. As long as it’s clear and easy to read, we have no other formatting requirements.'

According to that, the author's name and details will be in the email; if you include your story in the body of the email, the name will therefore be visible. If you send as an attachment, it will still have the mail sender's info, just not on the same page.

I agree, it could be clearer about the attachment version, so I'd send it in the body of the mail to be sure.

Otherwise: '18. Please send direct competition queries to waybcustomerservices@bloomsbury.com. Any sent to competition@bloomsbury.com will not be answered.'
