Questions of narrative

The Brontés had to describe because people travelled less and saw fewer pictures of the world. The internet has rendered almost all description pointless. Flowery passages about sweeping moors only serve as nostalgia for readers and a platform for writers to show off. Discuss.

I absolutely agree with Zaann Jacqueline. Some writers are compelled to commercialize to such an extent that they trample their personal pleasures in writing and write what will sell the most. I, like what Jacqueline does, write from my heart and I like to draw a literary portrait for the pleasure of the avid reader.

I agree with Zaann Jacqueline. Though for a writer who has commercialized completely, he is forced to step on his/her writing pleasure and write what will sell better. I prefer, like Jacqueline, to write from my heart and paint a masterpiece for the avid reader.

Why? Why write for a publisher and what a publisher wants or what is seen as acceptable or what is required? why not just right how you want to write, make it individual, write from the heart in the style you want and not be conditioned. writing is about being creative, just like art. I really do not like rules and if a publisher told me how to write or what was required, id go somewhere else. i cant sell myself out just to be noticed or make money, what i write comes from my heart and soul, and is a part of me
