Dear all,
Can any of you please recommend me an online course on editing and proofreading? I need something reliable, something which I can adjust to my own schedule and can finish within the next 4-6 weeks.
Thanks

Their courses are online, and you need to look at the pricing and the structure: as a member you would get the courses for cheaper, but to join costs you an admin fee on top of the annual membership, so it all adds up. Note also that your 4-6 week timescale is not going to work except for the most basic level. It develops in increments, and you can't skip levels, by the look of things.
Whether it's right for you depends upon what you want to get out of it. If you want to make this a profession, it's worth considering because you'd make back the fees by work garnered through their website. If you're editing on screen, and mainly fiction, for yourself or for friends, as I do, it's probably not. If that's the case, arm yourself with a small library of books like New Hart's Rules, the Pocket Book of Proofreading, some of the Oxford A-Z books (like Grammar and Punctuation) and of course a good dictionary. There's also the New Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors which is a quick reference for all those dodgy words and abbreviations that trip you up (alright/all right, OK/okay, acheing/aching, whether mealtime is one word or two or hyphenated...)
Hope this helps.

Thanks Lorraine. If I may ask: Have you actually attended any of their course? I did check out their website but I was wondering if anyone on here is familiar with their course. Best and thanks, Delia
