I have researched some local literary agents but have just found four and only two answered back with requirements which I gave but none responded. I really am in need of an agent could you recommend to me one of your own? I would be really grateful. please let me know.

Unfortunately there are no short cuts - you really do have to plough through every list of agents that you can find (no point in only looking 'locally'), work out which ones might be interested in your particular brand of writing, fit your work into their submission criteria, send it off and wait for a response, if any. You can buy a copy of Writers & Artists, or pay to subscribe on-line to find an extensive list of agents and publishers. I believe there are other esources that someone else may be able to point you towards. It's a long & thankless task, with many agents already 'full' or having very specific criteria, so don't expect quick results.
