Reward points system - how does it work?

I've noticed that my points total doesn't always change when I've posted a comment. Is there some kind of daily limit?

Hmmm. I asked this question for the sake of clarification and I seem to have stirred a bit of a hornet's nest. Since asking it, I have found a post on another thread, (also from Admin,) which says that there IS a daily limit. You can only earn reward points the first time you do each qualifying activity, each day. This seems to match my experience. I'm a little non-plussed that the Admin person who posted in answer to my question here doesn't seem to be aware of their own policy.

@Dawud and Cressida. I'm not bothered about having lost points, I just like to know how things are meant to work. I don't understand why the daily limit is not clearly stated on the appropriate community page.

@Adrian. I'm not sure that haivng a points system improves a forum. There are many writing forums on the web and some are busy and some are not. There's no direct link between activity and reward. They just go in and out of fashion.

Louise - there are various things you can 'spend' your points on. See this page here http://www.writersandartists.co.uk/rewards-points

I've always thought there was a daily limit. I'm pretty sure someone told me there was when I first got here. Not that it matters. If you stay for any length of time and join in, you'll have plenty of points in no time.
