Rules for submitting.

Hi all. I know there are certain rules to be followed if you decide to submit your work. I understand about the grammar checks, the editing, the polishing etc. But are there any rules that apply to things like margin width, letter size, spacing or anything else? Thanks.

These should all be in the publisher's or agent's instructions, Elsie. The synopsis is often one sheet of A4, single-spaced, which governs how much you can write, and the novel double-spaced.

Always read what the specific company wants and do as they tell you! They really do have limited time and will throw out anything that doesn't fit: after all, why bother with your work if you can't be bothered to read their info page?
