Separating papers which had stuck together when damp and dried out.

In the book I am writing now, the narrator, in the 'introduction' , states how he had come across an archive of a fictitious and recently-deceased failed writer, and many of the bound papers had been stored and had become damp, so that when they dried out, they had remained stuck together.

Does anyone know what the name of the process is called for separating such papers?

Once prompted, I could google it, but at least key words would help.

Thank you.

I believe you are talking about water damage to books and other printed material.

If so, here is a link to an article which talks about the process.

Hope this helps!
