Several projects at once.

Good morning everyone,

Just a request for advice or for someone to clarify whether it's normal behaviour for anyone writing.

This has happened more than once with me. I get on with my story, the chapters start flowing and it takes shape nicely and then... I have another idea and all of a sudden, I have jumped on to that and begun expanding on it. Due to this, I have several new stories all up and running and I'm starting to get lost off with the older ones.

Is this normal for anyone who chooses to write?

Thank you

Hee.

Came across this in a post from K.M.Weiland on her writers website, on this very subject.

G.R.R. Martin went so far as to say:

Ideas are cheap. I have more ideas now than I could ever write up. To my mind, it’s the execution that is all-important.

Hi David. I asked the exact same question several weeks ago. I ended up with about five different stories on the go. The advice I received at the time was to go with what you feel like doing. And while you are concentrating on one story it gives you time away from the others so when you go back to them you see them with new eyes. You see the corrections you need to make etc. It also keeps the mind creative. You are definitely not alone with this. Keep going.
