Sharing Work

Hi, I haven't been on here for a while and was trying to share some new work. For some reason I was unable to so I thought I'd have a look at what I've submitted in the past - I pressed save and it seems to have resubmitted it.

Has something changed or am I just being ditzy?

The troll nature of that comment isn't entirely obvious, but is better illustrated by 2 comments this same member left at the other of Jummy's works in question (which otherwise harvested good reviews - https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/profile/jimmy-hollis-i-dickson/work/55ed6cc3cf09c0e5a0d4a7a5):

"This kind of writing doesn`t interest me. Normally I wouldn`t comment on a peice [sic] I`m not a fan of because everyone is individual, and I`m sure there`s some older people who prefer this type of toneless writing instead of something experimental, but I felt the need to comment since you decided to comment a torrent of negativity across my work... which you say you skimmed, but regardless of not reading it in full you still took time to comment with diatribe."

"My differenece [sic] in taste is why I would never usually post on a piece I don`t like, but as I`ve already said, I have laid comment due to your attack of my work. [...] Further comments from you on my work, and my gloves come off."

i.e. "You said something unkind about my work, so I'm here purely to wreak revenge and spit on your poxy work."

Hi, Vicky!

If you make any changes in a shared work, then save it, it goes to the top of the pile of most recent submissions. If in addition - as you did - you assign it a new genre, it creates a completely new work. So that now you should have two ALMOST identical works: your original without the change and under the original genre heading, and the amended one under the new genre heading. If you wanted to do some tidying of your bookshelf, you could remove one of those... but if you remove the original, you lose all the comments that were attached to it by other members. (For this reason [i.e. not to lose comments on either] as well as to allow people with different tastes in genres to view the work*, Jummy has left a children's poem filed twice: "Lucy with her wellies on" by Jimmy Hollis I Dickson in Life writing [Memories, Biography, Autobiography, Diaries] at https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/profile/jimmy-hollis-i-dickson/work/57c6b9f9387140d8218b4569 {comments by 5 members, all very positive} and the same poem - filed under comedy - at https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/profile/jimmy-hollis-i-dickson/work/57c6b9f9387140d6218b4569 {one negative comment by a troll who "dissed" 2 of Jummy's shared works because he was miffed at Jummy's constructive criticism of his own short story [since then removed in order to hide the evidence]})

* Repeated requests for a new genre heading, "children's stories", have - as yet - not been dealt with by Admin.
