There are always online magazines and competitions accepting submissions. Have a Google search for them. Here's a link to some magazines accepting short stories. Hope this gives you a start.
What genre of story are they? It's important to submit to a magazine/publisher that accepts your type of story. Unless you have something suitable for women's magazines, why not try independent publishers? There are more of them than you might think. Have a look at the websites for Firewords, Structo, Brittle Star, Park Publications, to name just a few. Mslexia have published a very useful guide called Indie Presses 2016/17, which I recommend.
