Short stories. Self publishing. Submitting.

Hi all.

I have recently written a couple of short stories. And am unsure what to do with them.

I have self-published a novella, however, I am wondering people's thoughts on published short stories. I would list for free as they are just over 2000 words.

Also, magazine submissions. Has anyone any experience with this?

Advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, I'd be interested in what they are about. I am an independent publisher and looking for good works to publish commercially working with the writer. Not sure how people get in touch with one another on here as I've just joined!

Definitely try a short story competition. There are loads of them out there. Google them and see which ones you think your shorts would suit.

There are online magazines too. I recently had a short story published in Open Pen issue 16. It's a free magazine which is stocked in various bookshops in and around London. There's no payment, but it's a buzz to know your work is on the shelves of a bookshop.

Best of luck and keep us posted.
