Following on from the previous question, Is there any chance of the twenty or so short stories being published in an anthology? If they are the best out of 3,000 they would surely be worth publishing.

Thanks Katie, assuming the T&Cs are the same as the Historical Fiction competition then No.11 applies. Bloomsbury may into an agreement for the publishing of the shortlisted stories, so they have the option.

Would the best twenty in any year be considered good enough? It might be a poor year with six bright diamonds as the finalists. However, I can envisage a future anthology combining previous competition winners and finalists.
If the shortlisted stories aren't published on the site there's nothing to stop the people who were shortlisted getting together and self publishing as a collection. The issue there would be division or royalties, unless they all went to charity of course.
