Submissions in the new year

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone had anythoughts or experience on the yearly timing of agent submissions.I read somewhere it's best to avoid submitting at the start of the year as they tend to be over run by people endeavouring to fulfil their new year resolution to finally submit their book after however long in the draw.I'm itching to make some new submissions having had four rejections and awaiting the outcome of a request for full ms but don't want to get lost in an avalanche! Also anyone any ideas how long you would expect to wait after they ask for a full ms for their decision or thoughts? Not sure my nerves can take much more! ;)

Thanks

Hi Adrian, thanks for your thoughts. I have submitted to three more and strangely for the first time (I had submitted to six before christmas) I got auto out of office replies on all three so maybe there is something in it! Who knows....?

I haven't submitted my novel, but when I'm ready to do so I will. Agents and agencies receive hundreds of submissions each week of the year, I doubt the time of the year makes the slightest difference to them.
