Alright, People!
For those of you of a Christian persuasion, Christmas is coming. For the rest of us, it's coming, too. Many of us will over-eat. We'll let ourselves go...
Keep your thinking muscles fit over the holiday season!
Hache L. Jones wrote a Q&A some months ago, asking for flash fiction for a good cause (Make A Wish, which tries to make seriously ill children's wishes come true). At the time, she wrote that there was no deadline (until further notice).
Further notice has arrived. A deadline has been set:
NEW: DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS = 31st DECEMBER, 2016
All the info you'll need at http://thebabyshoesproject.weebly.com/
100% of the profits go towards making sick children's dreams come true.
(La Gr@not@ has offered 2 nominal prizes: for most original story and for most prolific contributor. So if a challenge gets you going, hit that keyboard!)
Hot on the heels of that deadline comes another: 25th Jan., 2017. Flash fiction + graphic art on the subject of refugees. (This one, unlike babyshoes, is ALSO open to children-contributors.)
The refugee crisis is considered one of the biggest facing the world today. Even if the refugees escape drowning in overcrowded boats, they are - more often than not - treated shabbily by countries that are allegedly safe havens.
Again, 100% of the profits go towards groups that are working with refugees.
Written contributions can be in English, Spanish, German, or Catalan.

(The talented Helen Jones [no relation, as far as I know] - also of this W&As writing community - has already sent in a lovely piece to kickstart the book. Thanks, Helen!)
What are the rest of you waiting for? More roast goose?
