Websites

I'm in the process of making my own website to promote myself to agents and publishers alike as I am still looking to publish my first novel.

What would they like to see on my website?

I hadn't thought of a website for my writing. I do have one for my photos but as a writer? Not till I'm 'discovered'! Thanks for clarifying that. I notice the emphasis on the letter. Still working on mine!

I agree, Jimmy. Agents and publishers don't go looking for novice writers' sites, and they won't bother with any such thing when you submit to them, - it's all in the letter, possibly the synopsis, and the sample - and if you can't hit them between the eyes with the letter, forget it.

Many agents - wary of viruses - won't open unknown links. Those who will won't want to "waste their time" surfing your site. So - if attracting agents is your only reason for setting up a site - my advice would be don't bother.
